Descendant in Astrology

Descendant is one of the most underrated things in astrology. The opposite end of ascendant-descendant axis ought to be as important as its eastern end. However, ascendant is often called one of the big three and descendant hardly ever mentioned. Professional astrologers do admit descendant has role information of ascendant and more, but instead of elaborating on it, just move on.

If ascendant is how others see you, then descendant is how you see others.

Sure, other people have their own ascendants and natal chart that reflect who they are. However, these matter for them in their own internal world, and we often just oversimplify them into a few stereotypes. Other people are many and we often do not have time or desire to bother with getting to know most of them. Thus, we tend to oversimplify and stereotype, often subsuming others to a few simple stereotypes.

It works in reverse too, you are a complex human being with great ideas, knowledge and such, but other people just assume you to be another Pisces just because their descendant is in Pisces and they see everyone as just another Pisces. Yes, people are that shallow.

Descendant is how we see other people collectively and what we assume them to be when we fill the gaps in what we know about them. Just like ascendant, descendant is formed in early childhood. However, unlike ascendant, descendant is mostly based on personal observation of family members, relatives, friends, classmates and other people one had contact in early childhood and teenage. Behavior of these people will gradually be subsumed into a set of stereotypes. Later in life one will extrapolate these stereotypes on other people they will meet over the course of life. This extrapolation is just as reflexive and product of habit as habits and traits of the ascendant, often made subconsciously and without clear awareness.

Placement of the descendant shows, what stereotypes about others one tends to assume. Just like ascendant's placement reflect the type of upbringing one had in the childhood.

Ascendant and Descendant form an axis together, that means Descendant will always be in the opposite sign from the ascendant. Many of the ascendant qualities would be the opposite to that of descendant. That is because Ascendant is formed to both protect from qualities of descendant as well as to compensate for its shortcomings.

In many ways descendant limits what you can notice about the world. Human mind better responds to things it can understand while ignoring things that we cannot easily understand. Descendant will over and over pull you towards people with qualities of the sign it is pointing at.

That by no means guarantee you will be able to get along with these people and your involvement with them will be beneficial to you. Just like with ascendant, superficial first impression more often than not misleads rather than confuses. It can signify initial attraction or interest, but fundamentally its Sun and Moon that determine who you can really get along with. Unless Descendant makes good aspects to either Sun or Moon, one should not assume, the initial attraction will guarantee good relationship.

That is not all, descendant can also limit what you can reach in the outside world. By limiting your view of other people to its traits, descendant can prevent you from noticing someone who can be very beneficial to you, but whom you are unable to notice and understand due to limitations of your descendant. Descendant makes you oblivious to many alternative ways of life that are too different from what you got used in childhood.

That makes fighting against limitations of descendant as important as to limitations of ascendant. Transcending the limited worldview, left behind by parents and educators, could be one's ticket to success in life.

Descendant is a set of stereotypes through which one see outside world and other people. Be it rose colored glasses or gray colored glasses; it distorts and limits your and other people's view on reality.

Ascendant in Astrology

At first, I thought to write about signs first and then cover the angles together with houses. However, while role of angles is connected to houses, they do have their own distinct role, that should be examined separately.

I will begin with ascendant, followed by descendant rather than immune coeli. The coelis will go afterwards. Axis principle is important in understanding how either asc-desc axis or coeli axis work so it would be inappropriate to split them.

To put it in one simple sentence: ascendant is a mask we all wear. Unless your natal Sun is in the first house and in the same sign as ascendant, then you are honest to boot who you are. Ascendant is a pretend personality that shells our real selves from the world. We unconsciously use this personality to get by in the world.

However, why do we wear a mask? Why pretend to be someone we are not? The answer to this question is complicated. Danna Gerdhard in her article about ascendant and first house mentioned that ascendant are traits that you learn in early childhood from your parents. That is correct, but it also overlooks why do we learn these traits.

Parents, educators and other such parent like figures often have a certain idea of what their children or pupils ought to be like. At best it is based on their honest understanding what the kid is naturally like. At worst it is a dedicated desire to impose one's values and believes on the kids, no matter if they like it or not. That is something they call parenting.

That sometimes puts children in unenviable position. No matter how much they dislike what their parents and teachers tell them, they have to at least pretend they learned "the right thing" at least to avoid punishment if they do not find it sensible. It's not like your parents will listen to your views if you tell them their views and values are senseless. Believe me I tried. All that achieved is them doubling down on "educating" or brainwashing me on what is right or wrong.

Then you grow up and your parents are no longer there to push their views down your throat, and you are free to be yourself, right? Turns out not exactly. Old habits die hard and while you will likely easily get rid of the things you found the most affronting to your core views, many other smaller and less significant traits will stay with you a lot longer, some might even last your entire life.

These traits will then continue to serve the same role as they did in your family, hiding your true self to shelter you from perceived disapproval of society and resulting criticism or even punishments. Whether these fears are justifiable or not depends on what your parents or educators taught you and the kind of people you interact with. However, all things equal, you instinctively stick to a safe option with consistency of Pavlov's dog. Yes, you are always free to be different to spite parents or for any other reason, but 90% of the time you will not. Unless there is something important at stake in any given situation, you will often play it safe and stick to usual.

If you compare relationship between planet in signs and ascendant to an organization, then Sun and Moon are like the board and the executive team. They sit in their comfy offices far from human eyes and make all the important decisions for the organization. In contrast ascendant are field rank and file employees who deal with customers daily. They have no power in corporate hierarchy, but they are constantly visible and a company's face of sorts. In the same way ascendant has no say in any decision you make, when you actually paying attention and not acting reflexively.

Because of that first thing people see about you is ascendant. You personally see yourself as Sun and/or Moon, act and think like Sun and other planets, but other people more often than not see you as your ascendant. For most people, ascendant is all they will ever see about you. Most will simply not get a chance to know you better, even if you are willing to show them your other sides.

However, for some mask becomes a burden they could not get rid of. Sometimes one can outlive most of ascendant and develop their new personality, other times mask of ascendant is so glued to your face, that no one except yourself knows what the person behind the mask is. However, no matter how hidden they are behind the mask, Sun and Moon always seek to express themselves in their own way.

While near everyone has a mask, their strategies of using it differ. For example, some are open to friends or other people they trust and stay guarded with outsiders. Others act one way publicly and another way privately. Others use anonymity to express their real selves without repercussions from outside world as so on.

Ascendant is the biggest reason why people get disappointed and disillusioned with each other. People are shallow after all; they see a few superficial traits and think this is the person they are looking for. They do not realize it is only a mask and not their real self. Sometime will pass before they realize that that was only a mask and an actual person is very different from what they imagined them to be.

Ascendant is the most visible part of every person, but it is a mistake to judge people by their ascendant. Ascendant does not govern motivations values or aspirations, so it's unreasonable to expect someone to live out their ascendant. When someone does not live up to your perception of them, it's not their fault, it's your mistake for not realizing they are not what they seem to be. Humans are complex creatures that more often than not do not look what they really are.

Remember, the more important decisions are, the less role ascendant plays in them. Sun is the supreme authority, not the ascendant. As you get to know person better, you eventually encounter, their Mars and Venus, then Mercury, then Moon and finally Sun. If you cannot get along with these bigwigs, then your relationship is doomed to fail.

For an individual outliving ascendant and reshaping outer shell persona into something that works for them is often a very important pre-requisite to improving one's life. What used to work in the childhood does not always work in the adulthood. At the same time, shedding it all instantly and just being spontaneous self can be a bad idea as well. It's not at all clear, what of the things you learned in childhood are nothing but parents' and educators' gimmicks that have no weight in the world and what are the things broader society actually looks at.

Your spontaneous self needs socially approved forms of expression that would allow it to get what it wants rather than attract undue attention or opposition.

At the same time, you need to outlive traits that block this self-expression. Parents might wish to block some or many of your traits because the way you grew up were not to their liking and they wished to change you.

I personally rather struggle with my Virgo ascendant, legacy of my parents' evil wish that I care more for people around me and not only about myself. What they taught me amounted to total disregard for my personal needs and I could not abide it. This is something I do not want to do. I do not care for others, but I also do not know how to assert my self-interest in a way that gets me things I want rather than provoke opposition from people around me.

Not everyone has the same problems with ascendant however, in addition to having it in the same sign as Sun, there are also good chance to have ascendant make good aspect with one's Sun and Moon. People with such placements will likely have more positive view on ascendant, seeing it as extension of their personality rather than a mask, they hide behind. They are also more likely feel that aims of their parents and educators are same or close to their own.

Ascendant is a mask one wears. An outer shell that hides and protects one's real self. Ascendant is something that other people notice first about you. It however is not one's true self and can be very far from one's real personality. Ascendant is a reason why people who judge other people by their outer traits often get burned. Do not judge book by its cover or people by their ascendant.

Era of Liars Coming to an End

Just a while ago I finished a very large article about Neptune's transit from Pisces into Aries. In it I outlined what to expect from this rather important shift.

However, there is one area important area, that I overlook as I looked more on future than at the past. In my other article about Neptune in Astrology I called Neptune a liar who leads people astray with its delusions. Neptune is also a ruler of Pisces. Spending past 14 years in his home territory, Neptune not only managed to create and spread many delusions across the globe but also helped many famous people as well as ordinary ones to do the same.

Last 14 years were liar's paradise where those who are good at it managed to spin their tall tales free from scrutiny and unchallenged by critical thinking. All sort of weird stories and fake news were flooding noosphere. Time old liar, religion, made sudden comeback from an ash heap of history and preachers were all over the place, scaring people with their tall tales or "divine judgement after death".

That however will come to an end as Neptune enters no-nonsense straightforward Aries who has no patience for such frivolities. Aries do not listen to tall lies; Aries looks on facts and makes decisions based on that. Soon some tall and large Goodwin heads will be exposed and shown just how large they really are and what kind of machines they used to project their lies.

I will cover two such compulsive liars, Rupert Murdoch and Vladimir Putin.

Rupert Murdoch

Rupert Murdoch is very old on the verge of death former head of equally old and on the verge of death business, News Corp. I already mentioned several times that newspaper is an outdated business. Why would you pay to read yesterday news when today's news is available online for free. Even for those aging analogue people, who are not comfortable with internet, there is TV. Who are papers are for then? Even more outdated and analogue people than these.

Reality is that people are simply not reading newspapers anymore. If you want evidence, just go down some news agency store and check how many people buying newspapers there are not coffee, postcards and other such small things; newspapers are bulky so you will sure notice from a distance if someone buys one. Hardly anyone buys them and those who do it are often long retired and very old people just as old and close to death and Rupert Murdoch himself.

For all intends and purposes, newspapers are dying business and News Corp cannot be one exception.

However, that is not how media and public see it. Murdoch developed a reputation of huge and powerful business and media tycoon who singlehandedly controls governments of the world with his heavily biased editorial policy. Politicians still listen to him and think that good coverage in his papers actually matters for re-election. Even opponents of Murdoch think he matters a lot and lament the power he wields over the media world and society. Murdoch is a good example of how power of Neptune's delusions could make a giant out of dying old man.

However, no matter what truth is, for the last decade and a half the delusion reigned supreme, and Murdoch's fake Goodwin head gigantism weighted heavily over the society and politics, shaping the world with his ultra conservative editorial narratives. Truth could not break through and defeat him, world lived drenched in the ugly dishonest tale he wished to spin.

Vladimir Putin

Our second person in this article is not someone who often associated with media. However, media not only made him a president, but it also shaped everything about him. Pretty much anything world and even most ordinary Russians know about Vladimir Putin is a clever lie, fabricated by media.

In Russia politicians are rather separated from common people. They do not live in community they supposed to represent, nor do they meet ordinary people casually for a chat. Back in the days Yeltsin made some strides into openness by actually interacting with common people. All that ended when Putin became president, he lives a closed off life, surrounded by servants and security. If he goes someone, security will close off all the roads in several kilometers radius allegedly to protect him, but in practice to prevent any unauthorized people from any contact with the president.

Life and public image of someone as separated from real life and real people as Vladimir Putin can be completely fabricated like a fiction book or a movie. Russian media did just that. All people know and see about Putin is carefully calculated and then carefully orchestrated by specially hired people. All people who talk to Putin on screen in any interactions are actually pre-selected actors who are following the scrips. Putin's bikers are actually hired actors. So are his judo sparring partners. His shirtless photos are photoshopped. He likely never ever hunted that white feline animal either.

Putin's media directors cleverly designed for him an image of tough badboy, because it appeals to women and because it fits well with policy Russia pursues on the world stage. Even people who dislike him, often think there is nothing they can do to stop him as people like that do not listen to anyone. Not to mention he has many fans who actually admire this tough masculinity. From distance of America, it is hard to see the backstage where all this was cooked, so people think Putin really is like that, while in reality he is nothing like that.

Real life Putin is actually rather timid and quiet person. He is likely gay and pedophile as well, otherwise why would he kiss that boy in that strange incident in Kremlin closer to beginning of his presidency.  At least that is how Yeltsin's daughter described him in her book, when she got chance to see him in waning days of Yeltsin's administration. Putin is no tough guy and stark contrast to western weakness and decadence, as media makes him out to be. He is weak and small.

By extension Russia is no bastion of traditionalism in the sea of "woke liberalism". Russia is a dying country destroyed by Soviet era feminism that suffers from shortage of men.

These are truth that too fail to break through the thick fog of lies, deliberately pumped out by Russian media industry. Yes, all Russian TV channels are owned by people and structures loyal to Putin and they all push for the same narrative. Even nominally "oppositional" media is often owned by the same structures. This tight monopoly makes reaching the truth next to impossible.

If anything, Zelenski might be able to expose some of real Putin to the world. Zelenski used to work with Russian TV personalities and possibly has access to some behind the scenes footage.

Conclusion

As Neptune ends its presence in Pisces and moves into Aries, soon we will likely see fall of many of the fake giants that dominated the past so called "post-truth" era. Some will fall spectacularly and publicly, others would either whimper or disappear quietly in attempt to keep legend alive. I would rather see them fall with a bang than a whimper.

Astrological Signs as Stages of Human Development

Writing my previous post get me to this idea about comparing human development to astrological signs.

I guess in Astrological terms, Aries represents childish naivety while Libra in contrast represents final development and perfection. Pinnacle of development and growth.

From there it gradually degrades back to pseudo-naivety of Pisces that eventually turns back to real naivety of Aries. The circle is reset and begins anew.

Aries is that naive and pure kid who mostly acts on instincts. They are true to themselves but also flexible and chase after what interest them.

Taurus sees their needs well and can express them well. However, they are probably most narrow minded of them all as they completely fail to see being their needs.

Gemini is a curiosity stage where people starting to get conscious idea about the world around them. Gemini is a learner, but also an experimenter who needs to try everything in their lives to see how it works or feels. I guess some of them can be cute, adorable students or followers. I think Gemini girl can make a good follower who can implement my vision for the world.

Cancer is the stage where one wants relationship, family and kids, but has no idea how to get any of that. They cannot have but desperately want relationship. Because of that they are clingy towards people around them.

Leo is the type that craves attention and gradually learns how to get it. A social type who wins approval of people around them with their charisma, energy and drive. Leo is the kind of energy guy needs to land a girl

Virgo is the type that tries to be useful to others with their work. They learn how to do various things in order to be approves by others and solve their problem of solitude with that.

Second half of the zodiac is like an inversion or completion of the first 6. Each of the following 6 is a completed perfected version of the first 6. The final stages of their development.

Libra is pinnacle of human development a type that knows it all and can do it all. They imagine and design newer and loftier ideas that will make world fancier and more advanced in their eyes. They are visionaries and intellectual. Libras also like aesthetics, art all sorts of beauty and sophistication. World would be a perfect idyllic place if Libras had their way. Libra also represents relationship, but that of lovers, newlyweds and those on their honeymoon. Family and children are domain of other signs.

Scorpio represents transformation that happens to people as they have kids, their initial infatuation wears off and they settle on reality of their life. Unlike Taurus, Scoprs are rather good at understanding other people's needs. Because of that this stage is also a stage of realization of various hidden truth in life. What emerges from it is often completely new and evolved person, however people in this stage can be dangerous as tension and emotions are high.

Sagittarius is the one who understood it all, made peace with it and now follows their various passions. Sometimes it is in search for that something beautiful and eternal that theit more naive and pure years had, but they cannot simply have back as they are now too smart and wise to believe in things they used to believe. The solution is to travel and search far and wide. Unlike Gemini who learns, Sagittarius often spreads knowledge around.

Capricorn is reductionist and primitivist. Just like Cancer he wants family, but unlike Cancer often knows how to get one. He also knows how to hide his ugly side so that people would not avoid him unduly. Secretly he destroys civilization and everything that is beautiful and sophisticated in the name of procreation. He lives a contradiction: he preserves appearance of the world but destroys its essence. A truly horrible being and a natural enemy of Libra.

Aquarius tries to salvage whatever is left of the civilization that Capricorn destroyed previously. Unlike Capricorn, Aquarius accepts that would is dying. Instead of preserving appearances, he tries to reform things and pave a new way forward.  Aqua is final development of Air sings. If Libra has grandiose plans for the better future, then Aquarius is often able to implement them and actually build something out of it. Aqua is rather sober as he knows not everything Libra wants can be achieved but at least tries his best to get done what he can. They efforts win them praise and admiration, they are the most celebrated sign of astrology.

Pisces is the final development of water and Virgo. They understand everything there is about psychology and people around them. They use it to fish in the muddy water. Skillful at dodging all sort of trouble by feigning innocence and stupidity they drift around in search for someone or something that will satisfy them. They often look harmless, but they can be dangerous as they are rather unhinged, and emotion driven.  Unlike Virgo they often able to have a lot of company.

More on Why Astrology Works

I read the history of astrology and got even more convinced that fundamentally this discipline is no less scientific than any other science.

Modern fake astrologers often like to talk like stars influence people, but this actually have nothing to do with it.

Ancients did not have the abstract mathematically calculated calendar we have nowadays. Instead they used zodiac to keep track of month, years and such. That is why there is 12 signs in zodiac and 12 month in the year. Later Caesar changed where boundaries of the month are so nowadays zodiac sings change approximately 20-22 of each month. However, during Babylonian times each month begin and end at the same time as sun would switch from one sign to another, and half of their month were named after constellations anyhow.

However back to how these people even invented astrology. It was the same as we came up with generations and now many would agree than say boomers are different from Millennials. Back in the days ancients also had the same problem as to why people of later generations are somehow different from those came before them. They could not come up with anything better than to attribute these differences to movement of celestial bodies on the sky and their positions against the zodiacal constellations.

Overtime they developed a body of observations on how people's character changes with the times and recorded it all for everyone to use later. They did not have our modern calendar features such as month year or decade, so they used whatever planets they could observe as markers of time. Observable tools, that can measure different periods of time that they could observe on the sky. They recorded differences they could observe in people against movements of these celestial bodies in the sky.

Pluto in Aquarius or Why Things Will Change

Soon things will change. Astrology indicates that. Last time Pluto changed signs was in 2008, at that time Financial Crisis happened and it shaped the world we live in.

Before 2008 Pluto was in Sagittarius, which is ruled by the happy and optimistic King of Gods Jupiter or Zeus who fucked almost every mythological female out there.

So that pre 2008 era was full of optimism, travel, expansion, development and improvement. It was a good time to live. Technology was getting better and better every year. Video games and anime were growing.  I still remember how nice everyone and everything was back in 2007-2008.

Pluto was in Sagittarius from 1996. Before that it was in Scorpio, that it rules. Between 1984 and 1996 it decisively and irrevocably destroyed totalitarian communism and old world order. Millennials such as I and you are too product of that era. We both have Pluto in Scorpio in our natal charts.

After that time Pluto moves into Capricorn, ruled by Saturn. Saturn or Cronos is an evil Titan who devoured his children to prevent them from one day attempting to overthrow him and his rule. That did happen eventually, the Titanomachy.

Capricorn in contrast to Sagitarius is a very astute, conservative and old fashioned sign that worships old ways and old people. Because of that the world is stuck in a sclerotic illogical reactionary movement backward from technological progress ever since.

Ever since 2009 Pluto has been slowly moving through Capricorn, marking this accursed era with misery and suffering.

Out of more recent US presidents Richard Nixon was the only Capricorn, he ended his career with impeachment. Kind of a human example of Capricorn in power.

My dad is a Capricorn and I hate him.

However, that will soon come to an end as in around 5 days from now, Pluto will enter Aquarius for the first time and change will begin. Aquarius is ruled by founding God Uranus and is known to be an uncompromising rebel and reformer who would bring in new ways to live, while eliminating all conservative opposition.

Last time Pluto was in Aquarius, Americans won the Revolutionary war and the French Revolution happened. So similar revolutionary changes are coming. I by one look at it optimistically. I think it will present some good opportunities for me to rule the world.

Out of US presidents both Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan were Aquarians. Both were great in their own way. FDR solved the Great Depression by unprecedented measures and won WWII. Reagan won the Cold War and dismantled the totalitarian USSR.

Also my grandpa and one of my friends are Aquarians. Though Sameer kind of falls on Aquarius Pisces cusp so he can be either.

On a separate note. I share the Sun sign Zodiac with President and General Dwight D Eisenhower, who planned D-Day, won WWII in Europe, then went on to become President and built Motorways and connected the US.

I also share it with Jimmy Carter, but my birthdate is much closer to that of Eisenhower. I think Carter planned much of the policies against the USSR that Reagan later implemented with much success.

Other famous people with Libra are Frederich Neitsche, Margaret Thatcher and Chris de Burgh

More on Astrology of Generations

Also, on generations. Boomers are often considered born (1946 -1964), Gen X (1965 - 1980), Millennials (1980 - 1996), Zoomers (1997 - 2008)

However, I think that Gen X should really be split in 1972 and their wings extended into neighbouring generations. People born before are rather different from those born after. If you look at astrology. There would be a good cause for that.

Boomers are broadly the generation of Pluto in Leo and Neptune in Libra. They follow hypes like Beatles (Beatolomania) (Leo influence) as well as pursue social justice (Libra Influence) There influences are kind of from 1940 to 1957 (the core boomers) Under traditional definition Beatles members themselves are Silent Generations but with this they will also be boomers, just like their followers (all 4 have Pluto in Leo, but Neptune in Virgo unlike those who came later)

Then Early Gen X (Generation Jones) 1958 to 1971 They have Pluto in Virgo and Neptune in Scorpio. They are workaholics Yappie (Virgo) who are critical of other generations. Also, not too outspoken about themselves (Scorpio), they merge their generation with that of later Gen X and generally their generation has little information about them. They are also the types to not hire people outside their own generation, because they consider them useless. I think it could be them who pit Millennials against Boomers they might hate both.

Then Late Gen X (True Xers and Xennials) 1972 to 1984 They have Pluto in Libra and Neptune in Sagittarius. They are more of work-life balance people, who had to survive mess of boomers and Gen Jones. They are probably flexible and kind of survivalist. And probably futuristic too, or more like people who can understand both worlds in a way. Many good politicians come from this generation: Volodymir Zelenski, Maya Sandu, Alexey Navalnyi, Ivan Bartos, Zdenek Hryb. People who actually care about young people.

Then finally us, Millennials. (Also known as Gen Y (as in why us, why did you fucked it all up and expect us to fix it)) (1984 - 1996) May be start using Gen Y name to disassociate it from Millennial stereotypes. Pluto in Scorpio, Neptune in Capricorn. Pluto rules Scorpio so it is definitely strong in us. We are dark, secretive, private, emotional. The Emo generation. The online generation. Matrix generation. We grew up during the wild 90s and other such problematic times. We do not trust and anyone and keep everyone at arm's length and are profoundly lonely. However, we used to solitude and somewhat even strive in it. We communicate privately just like you and me now. We indulge in taboo things such as BDSM.

Time when we were born was the time when old world order came to an end. USSR and Eastern bloc collapsed, Berlin Wall fell, Spring of the Nations happen, and we all moved into future. I think we as generation are kind of undertakers that would finally bury all remnants of old-world order and clear the space for new world.

Not sure about Neptune in Capricorn influence here. Maybe it comes to our reputation as kind of experiences people or lazy people.

Also, while Neptune spends 14 years in the same sign, Pluto varies (between 11 and 32 years, but in recent signs it was rather close to 14). Pluto and Neptune often switched signs simultaneously or within just a couple of years gap. That allowed us to measure generations with these planets.

Uranus on the other hand spends 7 years in the same sign. That will allow us to divide each generation into two halves. Based on Uranus placement.

On Libra's Men Nature

A response to:

Libra can be like a version of confident Gemini. I get them and like them, but their aloof way of balancing irritates me. I never know if they got my back because they may think it is not the right thing to support me or choose a different friend to support at the time. For romance they want the best and it seems like they chase an ideal instead of the love and loyalty for the actual person. When the person loses the ideal qualities, they get abandoned. Very very vain and you cannot change their mind. It may take years for a Libra to see that someone else was right and they were wrong.

I can mostly agree with that, and I am a Libra man.

We are good: cool and ideal ourselves. It is only fair that a girl, who wants to be with any of us, also strived towards being an ideal girl to be worthy of being with us. It is not like you can just win a jackpot with no effort on your own with us.

When it comes to taking sides, it depends on situation. If it is factual discussion, then I stick to facts. I will not agree that earth is flat, or feminism makes sense just cause a gf says so.

Of course, if situation is about self-interest, then I stick to what benefits me.

If you look for desperate for relationship men, then something like Cancer, Virgo, Cap and Taurus is probably your thing.

As a general rule, you want good aspects such as trine and sextile between their key planets and yours. Do not go for it their Sun squares yours. Astrology tells you straight it will not work out.

How Ascendant on the Cusp Works

Asc is more of a compromise between different inner planets so satisfy their many needs.

By itself it is just a number of useful traits that can used many ways, but will be used in accordance with wishes of Sun, Moon and the rest of the chart mostly.

In my case Asc falls on the cusp of Leo and Virgo and has some traits of both.

Leo side is supported by late dgrees Jupiter in Aries, double trined to Uranus and Saturn in Sagittarius. This in turn is sextile to Sun in Libra which also opposes abovementioned Jupiter in Aries.

There is also North Node in Aries and South Node and Mars in Libra to further amplify importance of this block.

Sun in Libra demands a better more perfect world. Sagittarius crew works out the details and then it all gets implemented by Jupiter in Aries

Leo side of Asc also helps at times.

This is forward pushing, ideologically driven but well balanced group that craves victories and glories to advance my unconventional causes.

On the other hand Virgo side is backed by early-middle (first half) degrees Moon in Cancer that is triple trined to Venus, Pluto and Mercury in Scorpio. All of them also make aspects to Neptune in Capricorn.

Moon in Cancer is all about self protection and preservation. The datails are worked out by Scorpio's crew who opt for extreme privacy and secrecy. Occasionally they consult with Neptune in Capricorn and get confused with its delusions.

All of that works through Virgo part of Asc.

The two wings do not really get along with each other well as Sun in Libra squares Moon in Cancer. Also Neptune in Capricorn squares Mars in Libra.

Poor Mars really get all the worst shit here at it is in detriment and poorly aspected.

Wings do vie for overall control. When security is in danger moon side of things has greater say, otherwise it is Sun side that mostly in command.

Astrology and Attraction Shorthand

For women in men's eyes that would be Libras and Pisces. They are different kind of cute, but both are cute. Virgo, Gemini, Cancer, Sag, Aqua and Leo do appeal to some.

For women in women's eyes most likely Aries, Taurus and Scorp. May be also Cap. Manly kind of women who can command respect of fellow women. However, they probably will have hard time attracting men though. Though more desperate types will go for them.

For men in women's eyes Probably Scorp, Aries and Leo. Sometimes Sag, Aqua, Gemini, Taurus and Cap. Libra can charm some cute girl, who respond well to verboseness and intellectuality, but we, Libras, are picky.

For men in men's eyes, it is situational and more complicated as different people meet different roles.

However, you should also consider general rules of compatibility.

How We Can Subdivide People into Better fitting Generational Brackets Using Astrology

Then Early Gen X (Generation Jones, Generation W) 1958 to 1971 They have Pluto in Virgo and Neptune in Scorpio.

How and Why Astrology Works

I believe in Astrology, but not just anything astrological. Since some of it just cheap fortune telling. However more serious astrology: natal charts, transits may be even progressions are surprisingly accurate. I think it should be considered scientific.

Astrology works not because of starts and planets, they are just used to measure time. It works the same way generations works.

Nowadays we say that boomers have these traits and Millennials others, and Gen Z yet others. Or say decades, such as 20s or 60s have one characteristic and say 90s another.

Ancient people of Mesopotamia, Egypt and Rome had similar problem to explain. The only thing they could use to explain changes between generations were movements of planets on the sky. They associated them with gods and thought that gods influence people in some way.

Gods may be do not influence people, but records they created of how people change as planets move from one sign to another are actually very valuable and should be used nowadays as well.

Movement of planets between signs of Zodiac were the only time periods (similar to decades or centuries nowadays), they could record such information against.

Astronomy was a science in the ancient times since. it was needed to keep calendar and such.

Back in the days, civil calendar and astrological were pretty much identical. Ancient Mesopotamian calendar's matches Zodiac very close. Month begin where Zodiac signs begin nowadays. New Year was around Gregorian 20 of March. When Sun enters Aries astrologically. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. Half of the month were named the same as Zodiac signs.

Because of it all astrology is truly a gigantic source of untapped knowledge about human psychology.

Wheel of Fortune as Example of Cycles of Human Condition

Among the tarot cards there is one called Wheel of Fortune. Its meaning however is much more complex than just luck or money. It depicts cycle of fortune and misfortune. This illustration from Carmina Burana shows it in much better detail than you can find on the card itself.

On top is the ruler, the person with the most fortune. To the right of him is a former ruler who fell from power and on his way down. Below is a downtrodden who is oppressed by the current ruler. Finally, to the left is the aspiring future ruler. He climbs the wheel of fortune to make it to the top and take the place of the current ruler.

Wheel is constantly turning, no one will rule forever. Eventually everyone will fall from power However no one will stay down forever either. With the turn of the wheel, those who were down, will begin their ascend, just as those currently on top will begin their fall.

This principle can be seen in many sections of life. In politics where one party is replaced by another. In seasons where for seasons change one another. In generations where one dies out and the other one takes their place. In astrology where all planets traverse all four elements one after another in the same order. Thus, elements and the basic principles they stand for, keep changing each other at the helm.

The tarot card is actually flanked by the four creatures of evangelists that also stand for four astrological elements. Bull for earth sign Taurus, lion for fire sign Leo, eagle for water sign Scorpio and finally man for air sign Aquarius.

Thus, wheel shall turn and our time to rule will come at last.

Tarot and Astrology

Tarot is a complex system with complicated history. Partly a simple set of playable cards with unusual suits, partly a divination tool. I am not that familiar with the divination aspect. I once had a classmate do a tarot divination for me, but I forgot what she divined for me.

Cards of the Major Arcana have many metaphorical images on them. Images that tell a complex story of what the card supposed to represent. I wrote about one of these cards Wheel of Fortune. There are many others.

In addition to that, there are a number of cards that are associated with different astrological signs or a planet. These images can help one better understand the nature of each sign and role they play in the whole story. Most cards listed on Wikipedia, already have an association with one of the other signs. I would like to make some corrections though.

I would associate both the Justice and Hermit with Libra; Hanged Man with Virgo; both Tower and Star with Aquarius. Juggler/Magician is Mercury. The last two cards, Judgement and The World are Jupiter and Saturn respectively. Sun and Moon are their respective planets as well. That leaves mars without clear association though, perhaps Death, then Hermit is Scorpio and Wheel of Fortune is Pisces

I would also like to say that Devil card, associated with Capricorn is a good metaphor to feminism. This devilish ideology is as twisted as devil's image in Tarot of Marcelles. Its poison keeps men and women from finding happiness.

The imagery is very similar to Writing on the Wall music video by Iron Maiden. There Samurai Eddy defeats the old guy, who turns into goat-devil and sets free a man and woman.

Metaphors of Day and Night

First Metaphor

Back in the days I tended to prefer night over the day. I thought the night was eerie mysterious and magical. It was the time where all sorts of cool things happen.

Night was an escape from suffocating banal existence of the day. Day was duties, obligations and boredom. Day was parents, teachers all sorts of authority figures, all the things and people I do not like.

Night was the time when one was free to be yourself, unseen in the shadow. There was no one above me and I liked it that way.

When it comes to this perspective, I still prefer freedom of the night to obligations of the day. I did not become duty minded.

Alternative Metaphor

However, night and day can be used metaphorically to illustrate a different concept altogether. A concept often found in myth of various religions and even references by Tsoi in his Calm Night song.

Day and light as a civilization, security and comfort. Night and darkness as primitivism and animal instincts.

Here I am actually more on the side of civilization. I want to live in comfort of my technologically advanced home and robot servants catering for all my needs.

I do not like the idea of bowing to nature. I would much rather master it and make it serve me. Sad that not so many people share my views on that.

Symbiosis

In fact, it could even be that I like night precisely because it gives more opportunities for humanity to display its mastery over nature. Beautiful artificial lights defeat darkness and make world beautiful and aesthetically pleasing.

"City shoots shrapnel of lights into the night..."

How That Came to Be

One thing that separates us from animals is out ability to use and construct tools. Before humanity achieved anything else. However, that is only partly true. Chimpanzees and Gorillas actually can use rocks and sticks as tools to get stuff done.

However, there is one thing that humanity alone could master. The tool that allowed humanity to rise above to the heights we have now. That is fire.

Sure, fire sometimes can be dangerous, but that overlooks the most important aspect of this awesome power.

Fire alone could turn the beast, who used to cover in fear of bigger animals, elements and nature into a master of the world.

Tiger, lion or wolf all fear fire, that only human can wield as his own. Fire can cook raw meat into a meal. Keep you warm during cold nights and even illuminate your cave so you can see as easily as during the day.

Fire over Morals

"I crawled the earth, but now I am higher. 2010, let it burn with fire."

Fire was that one thing that made us human. It was a starting point, from which we went further and higher.

With fire and tools, we become civilization. Without these we would still be crawling the earth like savage beasts.

Morals, ecology, green initiatives, plastic bag bans and such do not take us further and higher. All these "green" initiatives are just a pathetic attempt by primitivists to bring us back to stone age, their ludicrous ideas must be opposed. They must be burned with fire.

Astrology

Astrologically Fire element is also representing this power of civilization. However, it is Air element that build civilization with the fire of the fire element.

in contrast earth and water elements are still and backward looking. They are more instinctual that civilizational compared to fire.

Cycles of Development

"City shoots shrapnel of lights into the night, but night is stronger, her power is great."

In many ancient myth Sun is depicted in dualistic cycle. During the day it illuminates the world and brings warmth and growth to it. In one world civilization. During the night it disappears into the underworld and grapples with forces of darkness, until it reemerges next morning.

While in the simplest explanation it can be taken as simply illustration of day and night cycle, there is actually more to it than just that.

That illustrates other cycles of the world and even normal human development.

There are seasons for example. Seasons are like repetition of this cycle, but in yearly rather than daily timespan. During summer it is warm, and everything can grow and flourish. During winter it is cold and dark, nothing can grow or flourish. Thus, summer is like daytime equivalent of the year and winter is nighttime equivalent of the year. Spring is like mourning and autumn like evening respectively.

Human development is not different, it too runs in cycles, that are bigger than year. Periods of growth and economic boom are replaced with periods of economic crisis and depression.

Last period of growth began in 1995 where windows 95 paved the way for computers and internet to become part of everyday life. By 1999 a brand-new world of electronic entertainment and communication flourished on this fertile ground. Humanity evolved and became so advanced compared to its former pre-computer self. People of 1980 are nothing more than apes compare to computerized Übermensch master race of new Millennium. Idea of life without computer and internet is unthinkable to all but most retarded reactionaries.

Then in 2008 we had a financial crisis and humanity went into decline. Winter of Society fell on the world, reactionary idiots crawled out of their holes and started undo the progress of the Millennial Decade. Idiotic initiatives like plastic bags ban, greenhouse gases reduction, living off the grid, dividing people into alpha and beta like we are some herd animals. Old people, stuck in the past, became forefront of life. Many wield disproportionally large influences over politics and the world.

Religion too became a tool of reactionary backwardness; hypocrites keep spooking people with hell. Feminism is fake "progressive" ideology that does nothing to advance civilization in any way. Women are instinctual and backward, giving them more rights will not get us anywhere.

In fact, the forces of backward past gradually corrupt some formerly advance and modernist tendencies and turn them in inversion of their former self. Christianity actually had a warning that eventually an Antichrist will become pope and will corrupt the church from within. That is long in the past for us. Church have long been tool for backwardness and opposition to progress and freedom. That is why we need new ideas to get ahead.

Since 2008 technology hardly advanced towards anything. Apple does nothing, but changes numbers on basically the same iProduct as before and sheeple still wastes they money to buy new iPhone, calling Apple greatest tech company. In fact, Windows Mobile phone was the best phone, ergonomics wise; but because app developers ignored it, it did not survive. Apple is Antichrist of tech, that only runs it into ground. Intel stagnates since release of Core 2 Duo, that was only moderately enhanced in Core i7. AMD managed one breakthrough with Ryzen, but then simply decided to sit on laurels and improve nothing. Save for few exceptions here and there we have not seen any great improvements in anything.

Future

In 2008 Pluto moved from explorative, advance and entrepreneurial Sagittarius to backward, conservative Capricorn. In 2023-24 it will gradually shift from backward Capricorn into most progressive of them all, Aquarius. In 2025 Neptune will shift from backward Pisces to uncompromising Aries and finally Uranus will leave backward Taurus for ingenious Gemini. I by one is excited, that winter of society is finally over, and a new dawn is upon us. Full speed ahead.

Also, Pluto, Neptune and Uranus will be able to have two sextiles and one trine between them, while they are in future minded Air and Fire signs.

How Pluto Transits Affected Me

First my North (Aries) and South (Libra) Nodes, together with Mars in Libra were squared. That was a chaotic time. I was betrayed by my dad. I moved many times, stressed a lot, thought things are falling apart. However, I also reevaluated a number of people in my life, including my treacherous dad.

Second my Cancer Moon was opposed by Pluto in Capricorn: I got very paranoid and obsessed with security. I feared people are out to kill me. I suspected some of my roommate in sharehouse. I moved eventually. I changed all the passwords, forgot some of them later.

Next my Libra Sun was opposed by Uranus in then Aries, I got evicted from the next place I rented from, because I thought they were unreasonable with their rules.

Then my Libra Sun was squared by Pluto in Capricorn, evictions by real estate agents became as normal and inevitable as sunrise and sunset. Paperwork and never-ending inspection hell in getting new rental and ending the old one. Moving stuff between places and so on.

Finally, my Jupiter in Aries was squared by Pluto in Capricorn. I lost/spend a lot of money. Got my card drawn for more than 3k at a time. Took several months to fix it with the bank. This one was probably a mixed experience compared to those above.

The only positive was that Pluto would sextile my Mercury, Venus and Pluto in Scorp. So I had a relatively easy and lucky period between square to mars and opposition to moon. And again, for some time after opposition to moon.

Though best was probably after square to Sun ended and before square to Jupiter begun.
In addition to that, during Pluto sextile Pluto and Merc. I did a lot of introspection. Analyzed and reevaluated a lot of things. I uncovered some dark secrets from my past. Understood how much both of my parents lied to me. Get to some of the truth.

On one hand, I am somewhat cautious of Pluto going to Aqua to square my Mercury, Venus and Pluto in Scorp.

However, in Aqua, Pluto will also Trine my Mars and South Node as well as Sextile North Node before Scorp trio will be affected.

Then I can also look forward to Trine to Sun and sextiles to Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus.

For Capricorns biggest problem was Uranus in Aries (2011 to 2019) rather than Pluto in Capricorn. Because of Uranus influence, Caps did not have pure experience.

I think Tauri (Taurus plural) had the best period overall. Nothing major ever squared them. Pluto trine them, Neptune sextile them. Uranus was not bothering them, until it got to their sign in 2019.

Arrogance of Different Astrological Signs

A lot of things can pass for arrogance really.

I have a Leo friend, and he likes attention a lot, but also able to get it in a reasonable way by being an enjoyable and entertaining person. I think male Leos can sometimes get people's feelings well.

Capricorn thinks lowly of themselves and even lower of most people around them. They think everyone is a loser compared to Warren Buffet and will tell you so. They think hierarchically.

Libra subconsciously treats most people equally: it can please people who would normally be considered their inferiors but can insult those who consider themselves their superiors. That is why Libras do well in flat communities, but not so well in hierarchical ones.

Aquas are emotionally aloof and say what they think rather than conform with social norms. Some people will not like it, but Aquas are rational and reasonable people. If facts hurt your feelings, you best not talk to them. However, Libra and Gemini likely to agree with Aqua, even if they often not say that out of politeness.

Scorp women are so arrogant, they are worst. My mom and Hillary Clinton are good examples of that. May be there are some exceptions to this rule thought, I know one Asian Scorp girl and she is very quiet and shy. Scorp men on the other hand are not arrogant at all.

Aries are possibly arrogant, but in ignorant rather than deliberate way.

Planets in Houses in Astrology

A response to this

That is partly correct, but you understand role of most houses incorrectly:

health should be in 6th together with work.

1st is own physical appearance, clothes and hitting the gym.

3rd is intellectual pursuits and communication. it can mean siblings and short distance travel as well.

4th is set of all things that sustain you, it takes home in conceptual meaning as well.

5th are hobbies and romantic love. 5th can mean children for some, but only if children is your hobby. Also 5th have nothing to do with actually having children.

In general question of having children should me much further the house chain past 7th, house of marriage and all sort of bilateral partnerships.

8th can also mean other people's money, not just sex. That is living off others. In contrast 2nd is reliance on your own resources.

9th can also mean philosophical or theological pursuits in addition to long distance travel. By theological I mean debates whether God exists or what religion is right. Not any worship or charitable work.

10th and midheaven often associated with career. It's kind of social renown. Desire to be approved or considered explementary member of society or lack of thereof. My parents are strong on this, and I completely ignore it.

11th can mean all sorts of peers and equals as well.

12th can also mean things that you suppress and ignore.

About me

I have most planets in 3rd, 4th and 5th houses. intellectual pursuits, comfort of living arrangements and hobbies are indeed things I prioritize in my life.

Intellectual pursuits are the thing I dedicate most of my time. I spend my days in library. I read, analyze, write. I believe I am a genius and world should listen and follow my ideas.

homely affairs are important because I value comfort in my life a lot. I want everything new, comfortable, convenient, aesthetically pleasing, fancy and so on. I watch Sam Chui videos about flying first class. where he showcases the amenities.

Finally, I like to play videogames and watch anime. I have discerning taste in entertainment. That applies to women as well: I want her to meet my expectations and be an enjoyable romantic partner. She has to be well mannered, courteous, demure and be a good housemaid too.

I have no planets in 1st, 6th, 7th, 10th or 12th houses. I do not care for physical appearance, health, work, marriage, public image or charitable/spiritual work.

I have one planet in 2nd, 9th, 11th: the north node in 8th. I do care for money, but as a means for comfortable existence. I do enjoy travel, if its first class. I have a limited number of friends I like. I have nothing against sex but will not spend on a woman to spread her legs for me.

On Role of Uranus in Astrology

Modern astrologers often depict Uranus as a rebel who cannot fit in and constantly stirs trouble. However, that is a very inaccurate depiction of this god, his planet and his influence.

Uranus or Ouranos was actually an originator god. Before him there was nothing, but he and Gaya went on to create Titans and the world, including Saturn/Cronos.

Saturn is often depicted as the old conservative god, who maintains traditional order. In astrological dichotomy he is typically contrasted with more liberal, open minded and optimistic Jupiter/Zeus, King of Olympian gods.

However, before these traditional rules and ways of Saturn even came to be, there was Uranus before him there was nothing and after him there were Titans and other things.

Uranus is a creator, but not the kind that Christian God is. Uranus is not rule maker. He is not the kind of creator, that gives people some ten commandments, seven sins or other such nonsense. Uranus is the creator that paves way towards new, create new technologies, scientific discoveries and ways to live.

Sometimes for these new things to exist, old ways and rules has to give way and Uranus is relentless in breaking the old for the sake of new. In that regard he may appear as uncompromising rebel to a conservative person. However, that overlook the reasons for his actions.

Without Uranus like people humanity would never evolve into higher states of existence and would stay monkeys forever.

Thus, astrologically Uranus represents areas in life, where we will pioneer new and untried and untested things. Where we will create new way to live. That can be anything from technology to ideology and even religion.

As much as Christians and other religious people like to tout their faith and rooted in ancient tradition, reality is that it once too was a dangerous and disruptive innovation, that conservative people wished to suppress.

In more modern times people like Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan, thew the old rule book into a dustbin of history and created a new and better way for us to live. They too were opposed by conservative elements who erroneously believed that these changes destroy all the foundations of society that existed since time immemorable. However, Uranus types instinctively know that all such rules did not exist since time immemorable but were created by people much like they themselves are. Therefore, within their power to alter and undo these old rules to better suit reality.

Of course, it is technology that is possibly the biggest and the most fertile ground for innovation. New tech almost constantly supplants and overtake things that came before.

Aspects towards Uranus and other consideration in the chart does show how far person is inclined towards pushing their own vision onto the world or in contrast more apt towards preserving status quo and following rules made by others.

Meaning of Each Individual Planet in Astrology Series

Recently I finished reading Dana Gerhardt's series about meaning of different planets in astrology. I agreed with some, disagreed with other things that she claimed in her articles. Eventually I decided to make my own article about planets. Later I might do angles and houses as well.

I have not read just Dana's articles but many others. I also have experience of dealing with people of different astrological signs. Finally, I have great analytical skills, and I decided I should use them to put together a better explanation of gears of astrology.

The articles will appear in this blog as I write them. They are long and I do not have time to write every day.

After I finish planets, I will gradually cover, angles, signs and houses as I go. Understanding planets are important, but it's their placement in sign and house that determines the role they play in your life. You need to put all pieces of information together to get the full picture. I will also write about current major transits.
