Taurus in Astrology

After the Aries comes Taurus, both calendry (when Sun leaves Aries around 22 of April it enters Taurus) and substantially. Taurus is both a natural follow up to an Aries and a sign almost completely different from it. Every new sign emerges as both a successor and at the same time a rejection of ways of its predecessor. That is why it is best to read about signs in a sequence in which Sun traverses from one to another.

Astrological signs are not like a random sequence of stars in any given constellation with no apparent connection to each other. Instead, they are part of cohesive and coherent system, each connected to each other, like pillars and other elements of a story bridge. Yet each pillar has its own characteristics and properties that define its role in the structure.

After plowing the new fields and planting seeds of a future harvests comes time when one nurtures nascent spouts, waters them, fertilises them and protects them from animals and bugs. A routine and tedious work that is nonetheless needed for crops to grow for a harvest time. This is Taurus role in astrology.

If Aries is a beginner, then Taurus is a follower. If Aries dislikes routine than Taurus cannot live without it. Taurus likes clear and predictable rules, that ideally come from times immemorial. Taurus also likes schedules, not as much as Virgo but still does. "Work begins at 9, ends at 5 and salary is measured in per hour pay." is something a Taurus will say. Taurus will be most content with this traditional system rather than with something different.

Not as much as Aries, Taurus nonetheless has a lot of energy to work for their goals in life and due to their acceptance of routine might even accomplish more than the ram.

On the other hand, Taurus tend to dislike change and often finds it hard to adopt to changes and be flexible. Taurus is a person of habit. Politically Taurus tends to defend the status quo and existing institution. In workplace they resist change and insist on doings things like they always done them.

That said, as I mentioned in Aries article, our society has a lot of well-established industries and economic sectors with age old, routines and rules. Because of that Taurus will have no shortage of places where they can find successful employment that values their love for routines and no change.

Taurus is traditionalist in other aspects of live too. They typically like old things with character and tradition to them. They also often like religion and either devote Christian or some kind of alternatively spiritual: Buddhist (of new age type, rather than traditional), wiccan, druidist or something of that sort with nature worship. Finally, they like nature and natural things as well, organic food, trees, animals, grass and so on.

That said while Taurus is conservative it is not reactionary and does not fall into extremes that Capricors and Pisces sometimes drift into. To make an example Taurus will not invent new fashions like Gemini or Aquarius but also will not wear "vintage" things that fell out of fashion in 50s. As always clothes and outward appearance is domain of Venus and people with Sun in Taurus but Venus in other sign will have different tastes in clothes, meanwhile people with other Sun placements but with Venus in Taurus will have this instead.

Taurus is traditional when it comes to relationship too. Most of them, both men and women, will want to buy a home, marry and have kids. They are family orientated and prioritise it to other aspects of their lives. They are also very big on commitment and would only divorce in exceptional circumstances. That commitment focus also means that they do not take infidelity lightly. They do not cheat and will not forgive partner for cheating on them.

Taurus is also one of the most pro-natalist of signs. Many of them even see making babies as the most important thing in life. This is one of the things that make Taurus stand out compared to other signs who have other priorities.

When it comes to dating, both males and females have average luck (somewhat below average for men) with that. They are not the most sought-after types, so there will be rejections and people they will not get no matter what they do. Taurus of neither gender should expect male Aries level of popularity. However, there are those who look for a traditional relationship and will find it with a Taurus. That said Taurus tend to seek relationships early and want them now. not later, so they will feel it's really bad for them.

Finally, a little bit of context of how Taurus fits within astrological structures.

Taurus is an earth sign. That means it is a lot more in touch with their instinctual drives that with abstract ideas. Air or fire signs do enjoy abstract ideas, but earth signs like it physical instead.

Finally, Taurus is fixed sign. Unlike cardinal Aries who will adapt to seize an opportunity, Taurus would much rather stick to familiar. Taurus is a much more stereotypical example of fixed sign energy, however not every fixed sign is conservative. For example, Aquarius is also fixed sign. White Aquarius is known for its innovativeness and willingness to take down status quo, Aquarius nonetheless shows its fixed nature in how unwilling they are to listen to any critics of their views. They implement what they see right, disregarding any and all objections. For an example, see how much FDR listened to those who used to say his New Deal is basically socialism that destroying America. I would imagine that Taurus and Aquarius would be each other biggest enemies of all zodiacs.

Broadly speaking Taurus is a normie of the zodiac. Of all signs, they are closest to what society considers normal and government and business encourages. Because of that Taurus rarely has major problems with society. If they ever have problems, it's in dating sphere.

Some might call Taurus boring for that. That is not always untrue. To compensate for that, Taurus has more reliability and staying power than many of the more interesting signs, that I will cover in separate articles.

Taurus is a person who knows and accepts their place in the ranks. Bovine, unlike rams, do not fight each other for control over the herd. Unlike say Aries, Taurus will not grow weary and restless if they could not cease leadership after 3 months in organisation. Taurus is patient and willing to wait for their time and their promotion, working their way up. Tauri are building blocks of society.

I personally do not have any planets in Taurus, so I cannot talk from my personal experience. However, because of it my article on Taurus could be both impartial and accurate.
